The CoMMET facility is a 10,000-square-foot research and manufacturing space located on the 305-acre Flatirons Campus in Colorado, about 5 miles south of Boulder. The campus is home to the National Wind Technology Center and is a hub for composite manufacturing research, enabling researchers to design, prototype, validate, and manufacture composite wind and marine turbine blades and components. The facility features cutting-edge capabilities, including 3D-printed blade tooling, composite material mixing equipment, and state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques, allowing users to rapidly prototype and test new materials and processes. The CoMMET provides specialized capabilities in wind and marine energy industry composite research, including simulation and modeling, structural property characterization, and testing.
