Kiilto is focusing on sustainable manufacturing by incorporating biobased and recycled-carbon raw materials into its wood adhesives. This innovation reduces emissions, cutting the carbon footprint of its D3-class PVAc adhesives by up to 25% compared to fossil-based alternatives. The company’s adhesives, used in door, flooring, cabinetry, and shelving production, now offer a lower-impact option without compromising performance. Kiilto’s Vinyl Acetate ECO-B range and ongoing research into plant-based ingredients like hemicellulose, lignin, and cellulose demonstrate its commitment to sustainability. Every PVAc wood adhesive now contains biobased materials, certified through the ISCC+ system, ensuring traceability of recycled and bio-based feedstocks. This development allows Kiilto to provide more environmentally friendly options to its customers while maintaining product performance. The company’s efforts are a significant step towards reducing its environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices in the industry. Kiilto’s RDI Manager Jukka Jokela highlighted the company’s progress in this area.
