BioBond Adhesives, Inc. has announced its entry into the packaging hot melt market with the introduction of its BioMelt product line. The new biobased solutions, BioMelt SPKG500 and BioMelt SPKG250, are made from plant-based components and are USDA biopreferred with no odors and zero microplastics. The company claims that these products offer better performance and competitive pricing, making them a game-changer for the industry. BioBond plans to scale up production by the end of 2025 and expand its biobased hot melt portfolio for packaging. The company’s goal is to develop sustainable and cost-effective products that meet industry demands and reduce plastic waste and VOCs. BioBond is backed by Big Idea Ventures’ Generation Food Rural Partners I, LP Fund and is based in Lafayette, Indiana. With this new product line, BioBond aims to accelerate the transition to biobased hot melt adhesives and make a positive impact on the environment. The company specializes in developing biopolymer compounds to displace traditional petroleum-based adhesives and coatings.
