Agco Corp has won an appeal against Deere & Co, with a US Court of Appeals ruling that Agco’s Precision Planting’s high-speed planting system does not infringe on Deere’s intellectual property. The case centered around Precision Planting’s SpeedTube product, a seed delivery system that Deere claimed infringed on its patents for its ExactEmerge precision technology. Agco argued that its products operated differently, projecting and accelerating seeds rather than capturing them. A jury previously found in favor of Agco, and the appellate court has now upheld that ruling. Agco celebrated the decision, stating that it validates their commitment to innovation and product integrity. The company is focused on advancing its technology and delivering high-quality solutions to customers. Deere’s ExactEmerge system, which allows farmers to retrofit equipment, is also a key part of the precision agriculture market. The ruling is seen as a significant win for Agco, which is looking to transform into a leader in retrofit precision technologies as farmers upgrade their older equipment.
