The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare has launched the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Platform 2.0 and the enhanced NaMo Drone Didi Portal. The DBT Platform 2.0 aims to automate subsidy disbursement, reduce manual errors, and provide real-time tracking and Aadhaar-based verification. The NaMo Drone Didi Portal promotes women’s participation in mechanized agriculture by training women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to operate agricultural drones for input spraying. The portal features a real-time drone operation tracker, pilot training and certification modules, and a central dashboard for monitoring performance.
The initiatives aim to streamline service delivery, reduce input misuse, and ensure targeted subsidy reach. The integrated use of drones and real-time DBT monitoring is expected to transform the agricultural ecosystem. The reforms align with national goals to digitize rural development, encourage climate-smart farming, and enable precision agriculture. The Ministry believes that these initiatives will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of smallholder farming in India. The launch of these platforms marks a significant step towards modernizing India’s agricultural governance and promoting technological advancements in the sector.
