Invinity Energy Systems has selected Frontier Power to provide facilities services for the company’s cap-and-floor (CFL) scheme, a type of long-duration energy storage (LDES) project. The CFL scheme involves pairing a battery energy storage system with a natural gas-fired power plant to create a grid-scale energy storage system. The partnership aims to provide a reliable and cost-effective way to stabilize the grid, improving its resilience and reducing the need for peaking power plants. The project is part of a larger effort by Invinity to develop a new business model that focuses on providing flexibility and grid services to utilities, Independent System Operators (ISOs), and Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs). The partnership with Frontier Power is a significant step in achieving this goal, leveraging their combined expertise to deliver a cutting-edge LDES solution.
Infinity selects Frontier Power as its partner for the LDES cap-and-floor scheme bidding process.
