APP Group, a pulp, paper, and forestry company, has launched a new biodegradable and compostable packaging range called Foopak Bio Natura in the Singapore market. The range includes eco-friendly options such as food containers and paper straws designed to reduce plastic use while maintaining functionality. Singapore, one of the highest per capita plastic waste producers in the Asia-Pacific region, generates approximately 87kg of plastic waste per individual each year. In response, the government has implemented initiatives such as the Green Plan 2030 and the Mandatory Packaging Reporting Act to encourage reduced waste and corporate accountability. A recent YouGov survey found significant public support for a ban on single-use plastics. APP Group’s Foopak Bio Natura aims to support the Green Plan 2030 by reducing plastic waste and promoting eco-friendly packaging. The company has also backed environmental sustainability policies in other countries, including the US, where recent legislation has reduced the use of single-use plastic bags in certain states. APP Group’s launch of Foopak Bio Natura aligns with the company’s mission to provide sustainable solutions and empower businesses to adopt eco-friendly practices.
