The Agricultural Industry Electronics Foundation (AEF) is hosting its Spring Plugfest from March 31 to April 3 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The event brings together precision ag software engineers from various companies to test the compatibility and communication of their ISOBUS products. Engineers will gather in a room, where they’ll test their products with those from their competitors, conducting up to 48 different tests in 45-minute time slots. The biannual event has grown significantly since its inception in 2001, as mixed fleets have become more common in the US. The AEF’s goal is to enable farmers to be able to easily connect and use different equipment, achieving the right results.

The organization is also teaming up with the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) to host the event. Ryan Milligan, AEF’s representative, highlights the development of a high-speed ISOBUS, which will enable digital cameras and increased command and control on equipment. The organization is working towards integrating plug-and-play cameras, ensuring interoperability between different equipment manufacturers. The event will be attended by core member companies, such as John Deere, and dozens of other companies, before the fall 2025 Plugfest in Marienfeld, Germany.
