Ogeechee Technical College’s Agribusiness program partnered with Blanchard Equipment to provide students with hands-on experience with modern agricultural technology. Industry professionals, including OTC alumni, led an interactive session where students learned about the John Deere 6110R tractor and the GreenStar system, a suite of precision agriculture technologies. The students then had the opportunity to operate the tractor themselves, using the autoTrac feature with GPS-guided steering. Blanchard Equipment also donated a modem to the program, which will allow students to better utilize precision agriculture technologies.
The partnership highlights OTC’s commitment to providing career-focused training that prepares students for the evolving agricultural industry. Agribusiness Instructor Nicholas Cassell expressed gratitude for the partnership, stating that it provides students with valuable experience and insight into modern agricultural technology.
