Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Agriculture has launched a new program called Future Farm: Precision Agriculture Training. The program is funded by Upskill Canada and powered by Palette Skills and the Government of Canada. It aims to provide workers with in-demand skills for the digital agriculture industry. The four-week online program introduces learners to precision agriculture technologies such as imaging, mapping, and sensors, with a focus on economic and environmental impacts. The program also includes a three-day in-person period for hands-on practice and job readiness training. Participants will have the opportunity to connect with potential employers through a networking event. The program is part of Upskill Canada, which has supported thousands of workers nationally, and is driving innovation and building Canada’s prosperity. The goal is to provide workers with the skills needed to support sustainability and innovation in the agricultural industry. The program is now available, offering a new career pathway in Nova Scotia’s agriculture and agri-food sector.
