The Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) celebrated its 64th Foundation Day with a call to promote agricultural entrepreneurship. Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati emphasized the university’s role in driving innovation and economic growth through agriculture-based enterprises. He urged OUAT to create detailed project profiles for various agricultural ventures to empower students and farmers. The Governor highlighted the cultural significance of agriculture and its potential to foster rural economic development. He also emphasized the need for precision agriculture, biotechnology, and sustainable resource management to enhance processing and exports.
Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Minister Gokulananda Mallik also spoke at the event, emphasizing the importance of organic farming and government schemes to support farmers. The ceremony included the felicitation of progressive farmers, students, and staff, and the release of a commemorative booklet. A new Wi-Fi facility was also inaugurated on campus. The event aimed to promote agricultural entrepreneurship and strengthen Odisha’s presence in global markets, aligning with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India). OUAT was recognized as a leading nodal center for agricultural startups, having mentored 24 startups.
