The ReconBlockage system, developed by Precision Planting, uses sound waves to detect flow blockages in seeding and strip-till bars in real-time. Unlike traditional optical sensors, ReconBlockage employs acoustic sensors to listen to the sound of the product hitting a stainless steel plate, which is transmitted through an auditory tube to microphones and an electronic control unit (ECU). The ECU interprets the signals to determine whether a run is blocked or flowing smoothly. The system provides real-time updates to an iPad in the cab, allowing farmers to visually monitor each run and any irregularities, such as blockages, which turn red on the display. The system is compatible with both strip toolbars and air seeders and is available as a retrofit or OEM solution. It simulates and displays real-time issues, allowing for quick learning and immediate troubleshooting, minimizing downtime and improving planting precision. The ReconBlockage system aims to improve accuracy, productivity, and peace of mind for farmers.
