Discovery Park in Kent has expanded its portfolio with two new biotechnology companies: MilaK and iLoF. MilaK is a precision fermentation protein startup that develops animal-free whey protein, currently targeting the sports nutrition market. iLoF, on the other hand, is a digital health company working on personalized drug development using AI and optical technology. Both companies have moved into the park’s CoLab facility, a shared lab environment that offers access to state-of-the-art equipment and collaborative opportunities.
MilaK has received support from Innovate UK and has scaled to a seven-person team, while iLoF has raised over $10 million from investors including Microsoft Ventures. The companies were drawn to Discovery Park’s infrastructure and collaborative setup, which will enable them to accelerate their research and establish links with other life science companies. The addition of MilaK and iLoF brings the total number of tenants at the campus to over 180, covering biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and advanced manufacturing. Discovery Park’s Head of Business Development noted that these companies represent the kind of innovative businesses that thrive in their collaborative ecosystem.
